The Pokemon universe spans hundreds upon hundreds of different pocket monsters. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and all with different personalities. However, there are a fair few Pokemon out there that might weigh less than you think. Here are 5 examples of low-weight Pokemon you may have overlooked.
Gastly/Haunter: Identical low-weight Pokemon?!?!
No one will be too surprised to learn both Gastly and Haunter are the lightest Pokemon out there. They both float, which is indicative of very little mass. Moreover, they are a bit gaseous in terms of mass consistency, bringing their official weight to 0.2lbs or 0.1 kg. Imagine picking up a Haunter or Gastly and only holding around 100 grams of Pokemon?
What is rather curious is how they weigh exactly the same. Both are 0.2lbs or 0.1 kg, even though their shapes are very different. It is understandable how Gastly is such a low-weight Pokemon: it’s gas with 2 eyes and 2 teeth. Haunter, on the other hand, is larger in size, also has hands, but a smaller eyes and mouth. Even so, both low-weight Pokemon have identical mass. Curious, but not entirely unbelievable.
Cosmog
Speaking of floaty low-weight Pokemon, it is normal to mention Cosmog in the same breath. While shaped differently from Gastly and Haunter, it is also a “cloud” with eyes and a mouth. However, Cosmog appears to have a bit more going on in terms of “top structures”, yet they are also quite floaty. As such, another Pokemon coming in at 0.2lbs or 0.1kg.
Kartana
When was the last time you heard the name “Kartana” in the TCG? Well, it is another low-weight Pokemon that has the same mass as the other three on this list so far. A bit odd, given how she is a grass/steel Pokemon, yet it’s also an origami-esque bipedal. Kartana last appeared in the TCG as part of Hidden Fates/GX Ultra Shiny.
Gimmighoul is a Light-weight Pokemon?
Contrary to what people may think, Gimmighoul comes in two forms. Its chest form is obviously incapable of being a low-weight Pokemon. However, its Roaming form is just 0.2lbs or 0.1kg. It still carries an ancient coin with it, which probably represents most of its overall weight. Even so, the Roaming Gimmighoul is considered one of the smallest Pokemon out there.
Sinistea
When we think of Sinistea, we often picture a flying cup of tea with eyes. The cup is also filled with liquid. Keeping that in mind, how can Sinistea be a 0.2lb or 0.1kg Pokemon? It shouldn’t even be in the light-weight Pokemon category. Even so, it is right up there with Gastly, Haunter, Cosmog, Kartana, Gimmighoul, and a few others. Most curious indeed.
